I am so here for Emily McIntire’s writing style — she has this way of taking Disney spin-off fantasy romance and making it dark, delicious, and unputdownable. Hexed did not disappoint.

Venesa (yes, V-E-N-E-S-A, because she’s too extra for the regular spelling) was a full-on hot mess express — and I mean that in the absolute best way possible. It seems like McIntire’s female villains are always a special brand of batshit crazy, and I eat it up every single time. Enzo? Oh, he’s his own flavor of crazy, but the kind that wraps around Vanesa like armor. The way he protects her and loves her… chef’s kiss.

Aria, on the other hand, tested my patience more than once, and Uncle T? Let’s just say I was not shedding tears when he got “unalived.”

The twists and turns kept me hooked, but what really made me grin were all the little Disney nods. Every time I caught one, I was like, Ohhh, I remember that from The Little Mermaid! It felt like little Easter eggs sprinkled just for the fans.

I’m fully infatuated with this series at this point, and honestly? I’m already itching to dive into the next book.

What a story! And the twists and turns, the characters growth, the plot, the spice, it was all such a fun read for me! I read it in 1 day!!! I love a good book where both FMC & MMC are morally grey! Throw in Cosa Nostra (Italian mobster) and I’m sold.
I’ve only read Hooked in the series but this might be my favorite!
