Wow, just when I think I know which book is my fave in the series, Emily comes in and KNOCKS IT OUT THE PARK! So I am very biased towards Vanessa from the Little Mermaid. I’ve always (since I was a little girl) intrigued by her and felt like she was misunderstood. And I always wondered what she would be like w Eric. So this book did it for me!!

We follow our FMC, Venesa Anderson, the “Sea Witch” of Atlantic Cove. She is her uncle’s right hand woman to get things handled on his behalf, however she wants to handle them. She is sassy, bold, confident and never lets a man tell her what to do.

Then pops in our MMC, Enzo Marino, the handsome mafia prince of New York, who is now her cousin Aria’s fiancé. He is broody, intimidating, and mysterious - the perfect mix. They both find that they can’t seem to stay away from each other, yet they have to. They can’t be bothered by connections. Or can they?

Emily, thank you for writing this! I throughly enjoyed reading this while kicking my feet and blushing! Enzo might beat Tristan for me… also his nickname for her, piccola sirena (little mermaid)

Was I expecting to voraciously blow through this audiobook in like 36 hours? No. Do I have any regrets? Also no.

This was so much fun and I was not expecting that at all. Very strong addition to the series. I adore both Enzo and Vanessa, and their chemistry is excellent. Not even Enzo’s aggressively New York City accent in the audiobook could ruin them for me lmao.

Compared to my opinion on the other books in this series, this one is pretty good. There were some cringe things they did at the beginning that made me question if I could continue tbh. And other woman drama - no, thanks.

I’m not sure what is put in these books that keeps me reading.

Anyways…

I love the relationship that Vanesa and Enzo have! They really seemed so genuine with each other. I liked that it was a forbidden love, but the barrier was a little weird for me.

Venesa is such a strong, villain FMC! - (for the most part) I enjoyed the complexity of her character and was sad for the situation she was in.

The Little Mermaid references were so fun to hear throughout the book!

The little mermaid but she’s one of the Goodfellas and it’s not Ariel but Ursula you’re cheering for

Fun quick read
