I'm gonna argue that this is the best one of the series. The ending didn't feel rushed like others have. The pacing was smooth throughout - didn't really slow down in the middle and then rush the end. Even though nothing was really surprising, the "twists" were still done well. There's just one more Enzo chapter toward the end that I wish was written.

Little mermaid mafia retelling.

I was a little nervous there were going to be loose ends in this one, but the last chapter & epilogue helped to wrap up the remaining bits I needed. Enzo fell HARD for Venesa & the way the story was aligned with the little mermaid made sense & wasnt too cheesy.

It was an inspiring dark, clever, and passionate take on the Little Mermaid. Not only did I love the slow burn but a seemingly simple mafia plot intertwined with a classic fairytale was truly remarkable and untold. The clever nodes to book references while remaining angsty and sexy were insane. I thought the plot twists were a tad on the nose but I was still shocked at the revelations as they came. What I connected the most with was 1—Yrsa’s opinions of men (hilarious) and 2. The motivations behind the main character's actions and pursuits for justice are in their twisted way. Highly recommend for horny Disney adults ;)
