Loved it

Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Another great book with lots of romance, steam, fluff, family and action. Now I can't wait for the next one to come out.

2.5 rounded up because I like the idea of this entire series getting the same rating by me. I did think this one was slightly weaker than even the previous though. Editing errors. Jon and Donovan sounding exactly the same in their POVs so I kept mixing them up. The cringey weirdness of them calling each other’s fathers “dad” and all that (just why?).

But I like the characters. I thought the case was interesting too. The addition of the cats was sweet. It’s also fun when Jon shows off, BBC Sherlock-style, when a criminal accuses him of being a scam. This entire series is a light, fun read, which is nice.

This one takes place in Las Vegas, so most of the supporting cast is absent (and very much missed). The mystery plot was fine, but not really the focus of the book. I liked meeting other psychics and learning about their abilities, though it'd be nice to meet one who didn't work for law enforcement just to flesh out the world a bit.
