i knew from the reviews this author hates meghan but like when he said he thought Meghan was a self-pitying martyr creating problems for herself and someone who didn’t care about real human suffering beyond the social capital it gave her i was like ohhhhhh my god. oh my godddddddd

I'm not a big royal watcher, but I am interested in the dynamics of the royal family. This gave great insight into William and Harry's upbringing, philosophy towards the Crown, and their relationships. It was an easy read, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Reads like an old white man wrote it. No nuances of racism, sexism and just made it seem like woke nonsense. It’s kind of interesting but not great

Oh my! I almost returned this a chapter in because of the negative undertones towards the Sussexes, particularly after the unbalance in the news of late. But I also wanted to hear it out and see quite how the narrative exploring the lives of the royals is put across. Call it research in a hope that I remain open minded and know how others are using language and mix fact with opinion to influence others.

Overall, I found this to be a snobbish book. A fair amount of insinuation mixed with historical facts and gossip-style magazine copy. A he said-she said...but how do you know what was said.

Also, why do British voice artists need to put on American voices or impersonate the opposite sex? It makes it sound cheap and degrading.

I wouldn’t particularly recommend it. But if you keep an open mind and are willing to do further research it might be an alright read. I listened to it when I was out walking or doing chores so I was easy listening and non-taxing.

I was somewhat interested to hear future Queen Catherine has links to the mining heritage in Hetton-le-Hole, County Durham, though.
