It's YA and clearly so. Enjoyable but a bit basic. I would love more world building.

Wow. I was so nervous going into this book that it wouldn't live up to the hype! But this book was really good! I loved Lou so much! Her feisty personality and her foul mouth? What's not to love? I also loved the dynamic between Lou and Reid! Enemies to lovers and Marriage of Convenience? Sign me up for that! And Ansel? My sweet cinnamon bun? Love him to bits! And Coco? Such a fierce queen! I was very much surprised but a lot of the twists and turns in this book! And the secrets revealed? Yesssss! I absolutely can't wait to read Blood and Honey!

Ooh I rarely talk about book covers, but this one is so pretty. But what does the title mean? I didn’t figure that out when reading. Anyways, I really loved this one!! Lou and Reid...let’s just say I haven’t felt butterflies in a while. The sexual tension was definitely there. Mahurin knows how to make it hurt. I love a funny female character and Lou got me cracking up multiple times. This was a really good book, and now I’m scared to read the second book because in my experience when the first book in a series is this good, it usually goes downhill. I’m still looking forward to reading the next book.
Great job Mahurin!

Main female character is incredibly dumb. Really ruined the whole thing for me.

Enemies to lovers done right.
I’ll go ahead and consider the climax an event probably only 80% of the way through whereas other people might consider it the event maybe 90-95% of the way through just because I think option 1 was more gripping. The resolution was a little slow but did a good job of wrapping up all the details nicely.
