Devastated by the loss of her brothers, Serafina Ravenwood decides to do anything to protect her family. Even if it means seducing her enemies, or marrying a giant.
This book has a lot of action. And a very creative premise. I also really enjoyed the Nordic influence on the mythology. And as someone who grew up in the height of purity culture, I felt represented and seen by some of the rituals and customs that Serafina and the other women had to endure. Seriously. I have never seen another author represent the experience of living through sexist purity culture as a young girl the way that Perci Jay has.
So why did I rate it three stars?
Because I read this book because of the TikTok videos about the cucumber and there was no giant cucumbering in this book! Yep. I'll admit it. And I know what that says about me as a person. But. I. Was. So. Mad. I take my smut seriously. *Sighs dramatically*
Who would enjoy this book? You'll like this book if you lean more toward New Adult/Young Adult in your romantasy than if you lean more toward cozy romantasy. The pace is FAST and Serafina is not the most easy-to-love main character.
Check your trigger warnings if forced purity culture isn't your thing. I felt very represented, but that may not be true for everyone.

HOLY GREATNESS!!!! I planned on this book being a leisurely stroll. It very quickly turned into a sprint!! I could not stop!! Everything about it is absolutely amazing!! The characters, the world, the story line, all of it!! I have ZERO complaints or criticism except for being stranded at the top of a snowy mountain at the end on a MAJOR cliffhanger with no second book to read yet! GO READ THIS!!! Then read it again. Please.
DNF. Size difference isn't cute. It's weird, too far-fetched, bizarre and even a bit perverted. MFC is awful. Grammar style doesn't work for me. While there is an argument for thr use of "I's" as the possessive of I, sorry but I disagree. The possessive of 'I' is MY. Therefore, repeated use, such as "Derrick and I's relationship" was very distracting. In summary, this book just annoyed me too much.

3.5 ⭐️
I'll be honest. It took me a while to get into this book. I wasn't fully connecting with the FMC, and it felt like there was a lot of telling, not showing.
However, at about the 50% mark, it got really good. I found myself thinking about it more and wondering what would happen next. I loved the character growth in both Riyan and Serafina.
There were parts of the book I found hard to imagine. Like something was happening, but it wasn't being fully described, so I was sometimes left a little confused. That being said, the parts that were described well, were absolutely amazing.
It ends on a cliffhanger, so beware! You'll be wondering what happens next for a while!
Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book from the author. My review is 100% my honest opinion of the work.
