The empire of Assyria was one that rose long before Egypt was the great kingdom it would be come. Rivaling the ancient world in power and presitige, the Assyrian Empire was marked by warfare, highs and lows, and of course, disintegration after the mighty empire fell.

Eckart Frahm takes us through Assyria, with the kings, military might, and the very people who made up the empire. From well-known rulers, to women who were the power behind the throne., this was a fantastically researched read. I could not stop listening, and actually spent several nights laying in bed, listening far longer than I should have.
The Assyrian Empire has a rich history, and one that shoud not be overlooked. I highly enjoyed this book!
