This short novel has everything from few and far between, as Charlie gets to experience the world through the eyes of wallflowers, or the kids who couldn’t be more unnoticed. He learns all about all the firsts and love and hate and drugs and rock and roll. This a book about growing up, but in those positive kind of uplifting ways, but more in that dark and twisted wild sense. I’ve always felt like a little bit of an outsider, and this book captured the extreme of that, and I loved the honesty. I find this book to be mature and inappropriate for the classroom, but I know that after the movie came out, this book became an attached object for those kids struggling to get through high school. I know that this book tends to be either loved or hated, I genuinely enjoyed it, no matter how mature it may have gotten, I felt that it captured the struggles that every teen experiences.

i think a lot of people would like to punch me for saying this but i found this book quite basic and tasteless, i mean it's not boring, but it doesn't do much for me either. it is a solid 3 stars

I loooved this book! Unfortunately I don't really have time to write a full review on this at the moment (in fact I haven't had time to write anything lately haha :D).
But thank you to my friend Mehl who gave me one of her copies of this book and also recommended listening to the music mentioned in the book while reading it. It was awesome!
