While I didn't love this book as much as the former, I still really enjoyed it.

Blau's writing and storytelling are just marvelous! I personally connected to the story and the characters, even at times where I wouldn't have thought so. It's also great to see a coming of age for a young woman finally getting into the real world!

With parts sweet and funny, this is a nice book to kick back with!

This was a quick enjoyable read for me. It definitely almost reads like a YA. Zippy is such a great character- very naïve- but she is well developed and it is fun to go on this journey with her. I love how it captured the feelings around the early AIDS crisis from a young girl’s perspective. Maybe there will be a Shopgirls 2, I hope so!
