This character is a lot like Mary Jane who I loved. I really enjoyed her life and ambitions and relationships. I thought the parts about her dad were somewhat too convenient. But overall such a big hearted story.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nostalgic read for me. I always loved department stores and remember seeing the sales girls, so this was fun as a peek behind to imagine what their lives might have been like. The MC is naive, but in a sweet way and her development makes this a coming of age that feels hopeful and light.
