I listened to this as part of 81st & Clarke which combines all 3 novellas.

I’m mixed on this. I liked the second chance-vibes set up, the characters, and quick-and-dirty sex. However, I’m not a fan of when an MC moves from persistent to stalker and Addison crossed that line to me. Conversely, he was "encouraged" in crossing the line because Samara was saying "not interested" while jumping him. Her “I don’t want you but I will continue to fuck you even knowing you want more” didn’t sit well either. The banter was fun at times, but repetitive.

I know it’s a novella, but the ending was abrupt and barely qualified as an HFN. I’m interested to see, if as a trilogy, it feels more complete.

Narration:
Again, I'm mixed. I enjoyed listening overall, but there were some things that detracted. Like characters being given accents that didn't match the text, or one narrator giving a character an accent and the other not.

Just what I needed to get the weekend started. I loved how this story locks you in immediately in the first chapter. I was definitely captivated by Addison and enjoyed his banter with Sam. This is a quick read but does not feel rushed or incomplete. I am excited to see how this series evolves and I enjoyed seeing characters from past series here as well. Keep em’ coming CCJ!!!

Oh my

This was steamy. And I love it. I want more but I respect CCJ’s game. I will patiently be waiting for the next Clake Brothers Book.

(addison + samara) This was such a cute, spicy read! Addison was not coming off ‘Dammnn Sam’ for anything, he said that was his baby and he meant it. Samara had me eye-rolling a little bit but overall a good, quick read!

Loved Addison energy. He wanted what he wanted and nothing was gonna stop him. Samara was kind of a firecracker. She annoyed me with the back and fourth. Like girll you know you like this man stop fronting. Overall cool quick read.
