This was just about what I expected. It was a collection of past Spidey/Deadpool stories from over the years, as a prequel to their actual series together. This wasn’t anything crazy, but it was fun to read. Deadpool’s jokes are hilarious as expected, and it’s funny to see Spider-man trying to do damage control and deal with Deadpool’s obnoxious obsession with him (e.g. “What are best friends for?” “We’re not friends!”). Overall it makes me excited to read the actual series.

Grab-bag of times Deadpool and Spider-Man had adventures together, some of which Spider-Man knew about. I laughed out loud many times.

I LOVE THEM BOTH

The only reason I'm giving it a 3.5 is because I don't like some of the titles inside this volume

But I adore 2-3 of them up to the point that I wanted more and more

They're both amazing together and I just hdkshbdnsnzma

I'm looking forward to the main story even though people have been having troubles liking it, sadly

In addition to being a compilation of stories in which the comics industry comes to understand that teaming up Deadpool and Spider-Man is a brilliant concept, this collection was really interesting reading as an evolution of Deadpool since the stories span from 1997 to 2012. I mean there's homophobic Deadpool comments in one of the middle stories, followed up by Wade kissing Spider-Man and declaring his undying love. Like. Is there anything that better encapsulates the growth and understanding of this character?

Oh right, Deadpool/Spider-Man team up is the focus here, not my fascination with how this character has changed and grown since his introduction to the Marvel Universe.

Overall this is sort of a weird collection since it takes so many issues so far out of context. The editors do their best to provide context, but jumping from one storyline to the next is still a little jarring. That said, my favorite episodes in this collection are the ones I read previously, Deadpool #11 and Deadpool Annual #2.

While I fondly remember reading Deadpool #11 in the 90s (I fell in love with Deadpool during Joe Kelly's run), it was weird to see it placed beside the other issues in this collection because of the pacing, number of words on the page, and everything else that underlined how comic book style has changed over 40 years (because it's a throw back to an early issue of The Amazing Spider-Man). Still, the story has great moments with both Blind Al and Weasel, and I love the idea of Wade blundering through Spider-Man's life pre-idolizing him.

The story in Deadpool Annual #2 is one of my favorite Spidey/Deadpool team-ups, partly because of the way Wade protects Spider-Man's secret identity while swapping their costumes. It speaks volumes about their relationship and the amount of respect Wade has for the web-slinger. That's the kind of bromance I like to see.

OH MY GOSH I LOVED THIS! THIS WAS HILARIOUS!

This is the team up I think about at night <3

Spider-man and Deadpool are bromance goals!

I do think it was annoying when the art styles and story were kind of inconsistent with each other. Some parts I loved more than others, but this is an overall masterpiece!

And this was only the prequel to the series, I cannot wait to see what happens next!

This book was a fun read, and it makes me excited to get into this team-up series!
In the synopsis that I read of the book, it gave me the impression that this was all one story  but it is actually more of a collection of comics throughout different times and whatever. It was still enjoyable, even if sometimes I didn't know all the context of the times the stories took place in.
You really get to see some character development in Deadpool in this collection, so I think that that will set up his relationship with Spider-Man really well.

Almost put it down during the first issue (of the collection) as it went on too long and wasn’t as clever as it wanted to be. It did redeem itself somewhat afterwards though. Will I read more? ... Mayybe.

This is not a new story, instead this is a collection of times Spidey and Deadpool have teamed up.

The best story by far is the first one, DEADPOOL (1997) 11. In this story Deadpool travels back to the 1960's with Blind Al and interacts with some groovy characters such as Aunt May, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane, Kraven, and Flash, Norman, and Harry Osborn.

The artwork and dialogue is all very 60's and Deadpool's reaction to these classic characters is hilarious. Dropping Wade in such a wholesome innocence time period is genius!
