I love this series but I don't like DeDe and D'or so any book with them taking centre stage will not be a book for me.
I also felt we were kind of just dropped into the book (#4 and #5 were released 3 years apart so it may have made sense back then but now Shawna is just there and not a baby and a few other things). Looking forward to reading the remaining 5 books though

I continue to enjoy tales of the city!
This time we get to know Wren Douglas who is a famous fat model. Armistead has no issues introducing and blending this new character that just fit with everyone else. It was seamless and just natural. I enjoyed getting to know Wren and wish she'd come back in the future installments. Same thing I could say for Thack! who was visiting from South Carolina and him and Michael had a little romance/adventure. In this book, we see that Brian and Mary Ann had moved to the Summit next to Barbary lane. The Summit is an actual high rise in San Francisco at 999 Green and it's one thing that I love about these tales. They actually reference many real places in San Francisco.
The major plot happens outside of SF in Russian Hill where Dede and Dor go to a women only music festival while Frannie's new husband (another rich dude) is also camping at a men only camp site for the rich white dudes nearby. Michael, Thack and Brian are also camping the area. And so is Wren. We get to know the camp sites and their fun each adventure in this installment. I definitely enjoyed reading and following a long.
looking forward to Sure of You!

Really strong ensemble cast here. I like the anthology vibe and spatial proximity of everybody.
