You know those friends you sometimes go years without seeing but then when you meet up it's like no time has passed at all? That would be me with the Body Movers clan. Bond gives you another great story in the series complete with some unexpected twists. (Wait until you meet Hannah. . . .) I still want to wring Wesley's neck, but, hey, 19 is a very stupid age. I've often said this. I have a couple of new necks I want to wring, but I can't tell you because that would mean....spoilers.
Now to sit back and wait for book 8. Oh, and I'm working on a sort of Carlotta's country cousin book. That may necessitate rereading book 6. Oh well....
First read 4/13/15
Reread 11/15/15
The reread held up quite well. Maybe I'll tie my next Body Movers short into the bridal expo...

NOPE.
Ok, this book is written marginally better than the last 3, but still...I think it's time to let it go. I want to know how it all ends up, but I don't think I can keep reading these without causing my psyche irreparable harm.
I'm Out.

Cliff hanger!
Can't wait for the next book!!! This one really leaves you hanging for the rest of the story!!! Carlotta needs to be a privet investigator with her skills.

Rice cakes. That's the only description I can give this book. Rice cakes. They're food substance but bland. No one I know says, 'oh can you grab me some rice cakes when you're at the store.' And I'd have to say the same with this book. It is a book, but it's bland.
By page 10 I knew I was in trouble. Carlotta Wren's life is nothing but drama. It seems like she can't even go to a store without drama happening. Her baby brother is an ungrateful sod and her best friend (Hannah) is a clichéd character from countless TV shows I've seen. In fact, the story line of Carlotta's fugitive father coming back to save her (that's where the book starts...I'm assuming book 6 ended with it) was like an ode to the season of Bones where her father came back to save her and her brother.
By page 100 I just started flipping through to see who the murderer was. Unfortunately the mystery never really took off and my interest was never piqued. Ms. Bond’s writing style is what kept me reading. If only the story and plot could have been as good as her writing.

Worth the wait
It has been awhile since Carlotta and the gang from the Body Movers series have had any new adventures so I was very pleased to snap up the newest book in the series. Finally I will get some answers and maybe now Carlotta will make a choice between Peter, Jack, and Coop.
Or maybe not. I am all in for this series but I better get some answers and less questions out of this. Currently I feel bad for Wes who just wants to stop being a scene up but can't find his way. Frustrated with Jack who just can't figure it out. And sad for Carlotta who thought she had it figured out only to get cuckcolded yet again.
Yes the mystery in the title is solved but we still need to know where in the world is Valerie Wren?

Number 7 picks right up with the last book. She uses her usual sleuthing to help solve the case but also is that much closer to finally finding out where her mother is and the whole story about where her parents were for the last 10 years. There a few surprising twists in her love life that I can’t wait to read where that takes her!
Good 7th book! I don't feel like the story progressed very much, but there were some great cliffhangers. I would probably feel differently about the story progression if it hadn't taken so long to be released, but that's not Stephanie or the book's fault.
The only real blah/eye roll moments came from all the references to "the other place" in Carlotta's supposed dream (the 6 1/2 novella). If she had mentioned it a few times at the beginning right after she had the "dream," that would have been fine. We've all had dreams that felt real. But it was worked in to the story so much that it started to feel out of place and forced. It wasn't too much that it ruined the story, it just caused several eye rolls.
Overall, good read!

This is probably my favourite installment in this series. We didn't make too much headway with the Randolph storyline, but did learn quite a bit about Hannah's back story. I'm sad that I now have to wait for the next book in the series!
