Nesta's Story, and in the end, I loved it.
This one took some time to get going, more like the first one did, but the journey of growth for this character was a long one, and to rush that would have been to rush everyone else around her as well, which would have severely distracted from the enjoyability of this book.  And with having already established the other characters, there was something to distract from how slowly this plot moved along (a testament to real life's pace).
In the end, I enjoyed this one a lot, I was glad I chose to read it
after how I felt about ACOWAR
, and I can see myself coming back to it as a re-read some day. For now, I am glad to have a break from the ACOTAR series.
It is definitely a lot to take in all at once
(I read all 5 books in 4 months), and if there is another book in the works, I will be excited to pre-order it.

Not a perfect five because it dragged at times and could be overly preachy. Some of the themes of growth were a little too on the nose, with character reflections that came off as corny rather than meaningful and impactful.

This book took Nesta from my least favorite character to my #2, because Cass is still #1. If we ever get a story for Az I would pre order so fast, I need so much more from him.

Nesta is such a complicated character and getting to hear her story has got to be my favourite part of the series. Her character development through grief and fest and hardship is divine, and the way her story is written is so realistic, despite it being completely fantastical as a whole. I love all of the main characters in this series so very much.

Loved the character development of this book!

It was great to see the POV's of Cassian and Nesta. At first I was skeptical given how good the last four were, but of course it ended up being awesome like the rest of SJM's books! The size of it is intimating, and it does take longer to read, but is such a great story, and can't wait for the next ACOTAR for the next one!
