Definitely the heaviest of all the ACOTAR books. While the others dance around or occasionally bring up heavier subjects such as grief, mental illness, sexual assault, and trauma, this book dives headfirst into all of them and many more. This book is not for the faint of heart but if you’re willing to confront your inner demons to read it I highly encourage you to do so. Many of the passages rang very true and hit close to home for me personally as I have felt similar things as the de facto main character and said many of the things she said about herself almost verbatim about myself. The change in narrative style from first person to third person was an interesting adjustment as I’d gotten used to ACOTAR, ACOMAF, and ACOWAR being written using the former. But since ACOFAS used a blend of both it wasn’t quite as jarring to suddenly switch to the latter for ACOSF. Also there’s a LOT more sexual content in this one than all the others combined. Not really sure what to do now besides read Sarah J. Maas’ other books and wait for the sixth ACOTAR book to come out. Absolutely loved it, a very beautiful and heart wrenching story of redemption for Nesta. If I could give this book a 10 star rating instead of just 5 stars I would do it in a heartbeat, A Court of Silver Flames is now unquestionably my favorite book in the series.

Self-loathing, healing journeys, female empowerment, and CASSIAN- need I say more? By the end, it was up there with ACOMAF for me.

this isn’t 5 stars because i wasn’t as invested throughout as i was with acomaf & acowar and i definitely have my complaints with choices that were made, but it was still such an amazing read. i’m a feyre girlie, but i adore nesta so much even if she makes me want to throttle her at times. her healing journey was so beautiful plus the friendship between her, gwyn & emerie is top tier. and cassian? that’s officially my number #1 batboy. i’m sorry, rhys, i still love you so much, but you got dethroned this book. highly recommend and can’t wait for the next one (sjm announce something i beg of you).

I worried when I first started this one that I wouldn't enjoy it as much as it had moved away from the perspective of Fayre but in fact I loved it.

It was so nice to see the development of Cassian and Nesta and to see some of the other characters from a different view point, often not taking things on face value as it often felt Fayre did, and perhaps questioning some of prior events after having a different perspective. I also liked exploring why Nesta was acting the way she was and going on
pathway to healing.

Like many of the other books I found it predictable at points but it didn't take away any of the enjoyment.
