Översättningen är ju sådär och lite lagom förlegad, men den håller ändå!

After all these years, I've finally read this and I have to say I can see why Stephen King did not like the movie. The casting was good, but it missed so many details and things that take place that give the book more depth and way more explanation. I can't wait to read Dr. Sleep. - even that movie makes way more sense now. Hah.

I really liked the way the tension continued to build throughout the first half of the book, but as I reached the part with all the action I was less interested. Still good overall, but not my favorite King so far.

my mostly hate/kind of like relationship with stephen king continues. he has interesting horror premises and writes scenes of terror excellently. there are some truly creepy scenes here that really make you feel like you're there - stuck with Danny in the tunnel, following Jack in the bathroom of 217. but like my previous experiences with stephen king, his handling of marginalized characters just sours the rest of the text for me. like with IT, I did really enjoy the characters and scary scenes. I just think they deserve better.

Not my favorite King but not my least favorite. The backstory and descriptions made it for me, but I didn’t find it all that scary. The portrayal of alcoholism was so good
