Jon Sands sees through the story to the song at the heart of life. His telling is always beautiful and humorous, his self-gaze generous but ultimately generous to all of us. Loved this collection.

It seems to me that these poems taken together are about admitting how and why you’ve been wrong, and still choosing to love yourself. How making that choice is, indeed, the way you do better. I liked this book quite a bit.

There were some poems I really loved and some that didn't really do that much for me. I think the collection starts out stronger, but definitely a great vibe all around. My favorite poems were the ones that read like stories and 'You Know How You Try To Say A Thing'.

I'm excited for this book to be out in the world. Sands has written a collection that is full of music, pizzazz, and heart. His heart is smeared across the pages, and I cherish him sharing his world with me.
