It's a compilation of short stories, so it's difficult to log here. The stories are varied in length, style and quality. I enjoyed The Jelly-bean the most and Mr Icky the least.

Man, one thing I learned by slogging through this book is that I really don't jibe with F. Scott Fitzgerald's particular brand of pessimistic nihilism. It's just a whole bunch of malaise piled into a collection of short stories.

F. Scott Fitzgerald's greatest flaw is that sometimes he forgets himself and fancies himself a contemporary Ibsen.

In any case, in addition to the charm and pithy wit of his novels, these short stories also explore the absurdity of the era just after war and just before the depression. Most of these stories are told from the point of view of an person who has infiltrated high society and is doing their darndest to not be discovered. The absurdity reveals a greater depth of humour and self-awareness to F. Scott Fitzgerald.

"Porcelain and Pink", "The Diamond as Big As The Ritz" and "Mr. Icky" are my standout favourites.
