An easy and entertaining read. Perfect for people who like detailed histories about seemingly small or unimportant topics. The title is a bit of a misnomer, though—the book is less a history of the world, and more a history of sheep in the UK (predominantly England), with a few international tangents thrown in for spice. It’s also much more focused on how humans use sheep’s products, namely wool, than how sheep themselves were bred throughout the centuries to become the domesticated animals we have today. I would’ve like to learn more about the genetics of it all, but the topic is only briefly touched on at the beginning. That said, it’s still an interesting book and I enjoyed the audiobook narrator, so I’d recommend if you’re partial to this kind of nonfiction.
