I really liked the pacing, the setting, the monsters. What brought it from 4 stars to three, the teeth clicking, the everything clicking, why all the weird noises ? Why so many repetitive ? On audio it was super annoying.

What an abrupt end! I really thought there would be more answers in this first book, but then again, I did not realize it was part of a series. :)

I loved the world, Winnie, her family... and Jay. This felt like The Hunger Games meets Fantastical Beasts and Where to Find Them!

That being said... I did not love the 3rd person or writing style. It felt choppy and disconnected. I would love to see it all through Winnie and Jay's POVs.
