"A village that preys upon dragon slayers and holds a dragon hostage? Even if you cannot save my egg, you will destroy them."

This was a short, quick read, and I hope the short story to a future novel? I wanted to know how everything was going to play out! This had an intriguing storyline and unique set up, where there was only dialogue and no description. It did make me have to use my imagination more to create the characters and setting, which made it a little hard to get into the story. I wanted to know if the villagers know dragons can talk because the villager didn't seem too surprised. Also, I felt he agreed to help the dragon a little too quickly, despite having good reason to, he could've contemplated it a little more. Overall, a quick, enjoyable read.

I’m not doing a full blog post for this review. This book is a short one so my review will follow suit.
This was a fun short story by an author I’ve read several other works by. I thought the story was funny and it reminded me of the story Cardan is told (and subsequently retells) in How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories.
Final Verdict - if you’re looking for a witty short story, give this one a read.

Yessss. Clever and fun and sneaky, and the all-dialogue format works quite well.

this had the potential to be LONGER.
or at least have an ending instead of cutting it off at the end of one scene.
why didn’t the author finish it?

As always the ratings should be compared against other stories of the same type. This one is an extremely short story. More a scene really but it was interesting in terms of both style – written only as dialogue – and content with the conversation giving a good sense of the two characters simply through this exchange. Plus I want to read what happens next. Not in a cliffhanger way – the scene is complete and you know the what is going to happen next in a big picture way. I just want to read about it.

I got a free PDF of this short story emailed for subscribing to the author's website.
Overall, it was a nice lil story. A light-hearted one especially. The first short story (or story even) that I read of a dragon. It shows that (maybe? I really don't know) human kind betrays each other for personal and monetary gain and animals, even though unable to communicate (tho not the case in this story) may have intellect (like basic sense). :)
