This book has everything for a good book and I know that when I bought it I would have eaten it up and attempted to compare it to Shakespeare. However, it has been a couple years since I bought this book so it no longer hits as I know it would have.

Ignoring that, I found that the small paragraph at the beginning of the chapters was difficult to keep up with, as I was struggling to remember all of the details. But, this book was a really nice story and it was just fun to watch the characters interact with one another.

No notes. My fav. Only lost a star because being inside his head with his ocd is a bit much for me but that’s a personal problem

Just perfect. Not a bum note anywhere. I'm just sad I finished it so quickly.

This book is so fun, weird but also so real in a way, the characters are so relatable and I've never read a book like this. Super original and hilarious. I loved it.

I think I understand the point of this story: every book is always about the 'chosen one', with special gifts/powers/heritage/whatever and this one is about the regular boy who is just living his life, while the special kids are saving the world. That is also what made it incredibly boring.

I had so much fun with this!!! Really interesting premise and I’d love to see more from this friend group.

This book made me feel things. Normally I would love that, but I actually ended up sobbing my eyes out in front of a whole crowd of people because the narrator's emotions and reasonings brought up some insecurities and fears I have, so..... jury's out. I actually liked how most of the fantasy in the book was mostly contained to the background and the focus was on the relationships between the main characters. However, I actually liked the characters less as the book went on. They began to make these different choices and I understand that they had to have a plot arc but I didn't like how they all began to treat each other. So in summary, I personally had an awful mental experience reading this, but I loved the plot the whole way through and the characters in the beginning. Recommended to those who are really secure in their self confidence, have good faith in their ability to maintain healthy friendships, and don't mind a mashup of realistic fiction and fantasy.

i relate to some quotes, but i think the execution isn't really that well done. the more i read, the more i get confused. everything is not explained clearly. i wanted to read this book in the first place because it relates to what it's like to be an ordinary person living an ordinary life, but... the satire didn't really get to me. the blue light stuff, the indie kids... i just got confused. but still i love that there were lots of sentences that are so inspirational, and it feels like those words hugged me warmly.
