I liked this book. I really did. In fact I kind of fell in love with it too.
I felt like it was easing my mind a bit, making me feel at peace while reading it. Ness is a really good writer and I felt immediately invested in the protagonists life’s.
I do see the parallels between what is (in this book) the side plot and Buffy, buuuut I have to admit that I don’t see that as as a flaw.

I found myself very pleased when the protagonists acknowledged how absolutely impractical the things are that happen to the “Indie Kids”. And it kind of reminded me of a question I keep asking, in books and movies alike; Does no one notice this? Or; who’s going to clean up this mess now?

At the same time it eased me.
I have a strong fear of the future and as I will be graduating next year it is all kind of cluttering my mind.
The protagonists have similar fears, of not being able to get their life together because of multiple reasons and they still manage to go trough life.
As I was finishing it I felt like I usually do after a session with my psychologist - at ease, relaxed and most of all relieved.

I do understand that this book may not be it for everyone - but I really enjoyed reading it and will definitely recommend it to everyone willing to listen.

Clever and sweet story about friends, family, and OCD. The fantasy elements are slight, but fun. The real joy of this book are the neat characterizations that make even minor characters unique and interesting.

Quick read, I liked it, especially the part where he talks to the therapist, there conversation was very real and raw. I think that I would have loved this book in high school, there were a lot of feeling that Mike had that I recognized from what I went through in high school, an a lot of the anxiety feelings that are still with me today.

This book was so amazing and really made me think. I couldn't wait to continue reading the book and couldn't wait to re-read it.
