Accidentally bought it, didn't know it was YA. That's my bad.
Still had some good laughs, but overall meh. I prefer Riordan-style adventures.

I like Meredith's parts, especially the concert one.
Loved the fact that they had an All-you-can-cheese toast.

Patrick Ness non sbaglia mai un colpo. E questo libro, nella sua semplicità è un altro piccolo capolavoro.

Didn't expected this to be YA so I was disappointed. Also I didn't get character development at all, felt like things were happening around characters rather than with them.

Part of any Patrick Ness novel is working out how the world works and what the hell is going on. In this case, the chapters start with a description of a plot happening in the world, with immortal beings trying to bring the world to a spectacular action-movie end. None of this action is described within the body of the chapter though. The characters are extras, bystanders who don't take part in the action but just have to carry on as normal while other, more indie teens battle the monsters. They some of that action at the periphery, but otherwise just get on with their lives and hope to be able to graduate before their school is blown up.
It's a great idea for a book, but the execution was blah. It wasn't clever enough or interesting enough for me to get excited about. Underwhelming would be the word, I think.

Slightly YA, but subtle enough for me to stay with it. Will read more of him probably.

I enjoyed the writing but otherwise the book was just okay. I probably went in having with too high expectations. The general plot just confused me and I feel like nothing major happened.

This was not the best book that I've ever read, BUT it was a really nice read that talked a lot about mental illnesses and what its like to feel during your senior year of high school. I thought that this book was going to be a lot different from what it actually was like because of the synopsis but overall it was pretty good.

Loved the humour in this book as all the exciting stuff happens just off the page and these teens carry on regardless. Very quirky elements and reads like an American teen coming of age flick.
