An utterly charming picture book. I picked this up after hearing it was one of the few children's stories depicting wolves in a positive light (which it does!) and stayed for a story about friendship that manages to be gentle and touching without giving one cavities from the sweetness.
November 2016 - we've read this one a few times, and Ben seems to really get the story, which I love. It's a bit on the wordier side, for how much actually happens plot-wise, but it's got a great emotional core.
The illustrations are beautiful, but the story is definitely lacking. I'm guessing it just didn't translate very well.

Teaches you so much about friendship, love, and sharing. I'll never forget how intense it got when the Big Fox couldn't find the Little Fox. Definitely give it a read if you get time.
A lovely, quiet story. Soft illustrations - good for a cold winter day.
Really a lovely little story from France. Could be a great story for a little one expecting a sibling on the way. I thought it also read well through the point of becoming a parent in some ways.
Such a sweet book about friendship and kindness. The art is beautiful.
Very sweet story about a Big Wolf who looks out for himself until he meets little wolf. Great story of friendship. Very touching. Young children will enjoy it.
A subtle and stirring story that sees a lonely heart begin to open up and allow someone else to enter it. Sitting under the comfort of his tree, Big Wolf has always existed by himself. With the arrival of Little Wolf, feelings that began with fear begin to turn into care and a desire for companionship. Perhaps time spent in the company of another is better than that spent alone, and the rewards offered by a new friend are greater than any danger that they could ever pose.
