I’ve been reading the webtoon for a while. The book is absolutely amazing. I normally can’t get lost in books that I read on electronics. Not Even Bones is a rare exception and I’m excited to read the rest of the series.

DID NOT FINISH

I'm marking this as "Read" because I made it halfway through the book before my intense dislike for the main character drove me away.

She is wholly unlikable and unrelatable. Nita is written to seem extremely cold, and I couldn't get past her complete disdain for Mirella while in captivity with her.

It's written well as far as world building goes, but a good world isn't enough to carry a weak character.

I didn't realize this was part of a series! I honestly was not expecting much of this book from the description, but I was pleasantly surprised. I cant wait to jump back in with these characters when book 2 comes out.

Update: I just finished reading this a second time and liked it better. So much so I’m off to get the second book.  I think my tastes have changed in books since my first read of this one.

I don’t know how to rate this one or how I feel. It was good but the first chapter and some other bits were pretty disturbing.. I don’t think I’ll continue with the series.

“Morals were nothing but things to be manipulated with. They were tools you could use against others, and weapons others could use against you.”

“But the problem with losing your morality is that sometimes it takes other things with it. You don’t realize the things that are important to you, in order to be the person you want to be, until you’ve already damaged them beyond repair.”

It was good.

The world building is good. The legends behind the different monsters was cool.

The writing was good. Nothing special about it tho, I did like how it mentioned things like colonism and privilege in America (I stole from someone's else's review because I agree and can't form my own opinions
