Mind-fucking, amazingly plotted, dark and twisted urban thriller. Ingenious. I never thought of the ending really and was shocked when the killer was revealed. Of all people who'd know right. It can be anyone's game at that point. The character's identities are epiclly surprising. Who knows the bad guys can be good huh. Anyhow I hoped it ran a little bit longer and the supernatural part was bit more pronounced.
ARC sent to me for a honest review
I would have read this book in one sitting if I didn't have to work.
I think it was a very smart book. It may be that the Veronica Mars movie just came out, but it reminds me a lot of that show. In my eyes, it makes it an incredible book. I love that Nearly is a strong female character. We don't have that a lot right now in Young Adult fiction. And Reese was an awesome tough guy with a heart of gold companion. my only complaint is that I would love to know more of Reese's story.
I have a feeling we will be seeing more of these characters.

Debut author Cosimano provides a great teen/YA thriller in "Nearly Gone". It was refreshing to read a non-dystopian teen/YA novel. Mystery, suspense, romance, paranormal talents plus a little AP Chemistry - the book has it all.
Fantastic. The integration of science and math clues with this deeply personal revenge-murder-spree, the mildly sci-fi aspect of Nearly's unique talent, and the gritty realism of the characters' lives are all well-handled. My only complaints: the murderer is hidden in such a profusion of high school boy characters, I had trouble keeping them straight. The story would have been more elegantly constructed if one or two of them were merged or eliminated. Also, the undercover cop posing as a high schooler struck me as unrealistic. I dunno, maybe it could happen, but he was obviously out of place right from the start.
Despite these minor quibbles, I couldn't put the book down and will look for more from Cosimano.

Great story and characters but there were some plot holes and inconsistencies that couldn't be overlooked. I still enjoyed it regardless.

I won this in a contest on Goodreads. When I found out, I was really excited because the synopsis sounded so good and I thought I would really enjoy it. As soon as I got it I quickly picked it up to read and was able to get it done in a day and a half. I really enjoyed it and while reading it couldn't help being anxious to get it finished and see who was messing with Nearly.
Even though I enjoyed it I felt that it wasn't a perfect story. As I read I kept thinking that this was going to be a story I loved but there were some things that either weren't necessary or that didn't work very well together with the story. For example, I never even suspected who would be the killer. I had some guesses but they were completely off. You find out who the killer is and then suddenly they're doing the cliche evil-person-explains-how-they-accomplished-everything-and-why-they-want-revenge scenario. It was a little quick and I wasn't a fan of how the conflict was resolved. I was hoping Nearly would toughen up and somehow take charge and save herself and instead I got something else. I couldn't help feeling disappointed because throughout the book I wanted to see how it would end so badly and it turned not to be as great as I had expected it to be.
I also thought the use of her powers were kind of pointless and didn't help in any way. She was so scared to use them that she ended up not doing anything with them. They didn't help her figure anything out or solve the crime. I feel like she used them more to see how the boy she liked felt about her instead of helping find the killer.
As a character I didn't love Nearly but I could sympathize with her and understood her need and want in getting out of her small town. I can relate to that feeling and I did like her for most of the story. There were moments though that remind me of when I watch either scary movies or thrillers. I just start yelling at the character on the TV "What are you doing!! Don't go there! Run away! Why would you go in there!" and a bunch of other stuff. Nearly would continuously act before thinking and it just frustrated me because her actions would end up causing more trouble for herself and biting her in the butt.
It's not a perfect book but I liked it and enjoyed it for the most part. It has a lot of potential and I would recommend it to others and I think most people would like it. It kept me hooked and wanting to finish it as soon as possible so if a book can do that to me then I have to admit that I did like it.

Everything I look for in a suspense book, while being wonderfully written at the same time. So rare that it happens that way.
YESSSSS I LOVED IT. I just read an amazing thriller and wasn't sure something could compete with it BUT THIS ONE DID. Thrillers are the best genre there is and ASDDHSKSLAB THIS BOOK I CANNOT EVEN. READ IT PLZ. It has romance and mystery and SO GOOD. Also bad boys are my weakness and there are PLENTY in here. Even thought I kept thinking I knew who the killer was, I still was surprised (even though at one point I'm pretty sure I had thought of almost everyone as the killer lol) so yes you think you may know what's going on, but you won't.
Whoa. Sucked me in so hard. A welcome reprieve from all that's happening in real life right now.
