Clinically depressed heroine raised by a clinically depressed neglectful mother and a fat romantic interest. Everything I love.

I honestly enjoyed this way more than The Ex-Talk! Kind of bummed this one is rated slightly lower. Ari and Russell's story is fun, tender, and sweet, a perfect blend of romance between two people that have hang-ups and fears and love the real person beneath it all. Pros for great mental health discussion and also having a fat male MC! RLS never ever misses.

This was another average read for me. Certainly, the plot was kind of cute, attempting to “parent trap” the bosses and subsequently catching feelings. I liked the honesty in Ari’s mental health and how she manages it. I didn’t love or really understand the big conflict at the end of the book though. Some of the reactions just felt too over the top for me.

Pretty cute and gave Set It Up vibes (whichever one came first idk but cute anyway) except the ~conflict~ was so unnecessary and it annoyed me that she did it and I had her psychoanalyzed exsctly the way her therapist did it 20 pages later before it was even over. Just irritates me when that shit can be prevented by a couple hour breather and self reflection and then a mature conversation.
