The next Rivers of London book! Tbh it's lost a lot of the urgency of the previous books. Peter goes undercover at a tech company, and while it's fun to see him interact with the nerds that are His People and I do like the new characters (one is a Black ex-cop who is an ex-cop because he was Too Good To Be A Cop who fosters troubled teens, one is a gay and trans programmer who likes TTRPG games) I did miss having more of the supernatural element

At this point I'm mostly interested in seeing Peter's world expand! I like the community engagement part of the books when it happens, but it's a shame that so much development is offscreen

My love for this series is so great, so I knew I’d love this. However, I’d read a sample of the first chapter and was a little unsure as Ben has been tricksy! It was a welcome and much anticipated return to the world of the Folly though, and quickly we see how this new life blends with the old.

I adored Peter, as always, and loved how the story wove together. Having said that, the jumps in time were a little confusing at first, but I think part of that is being a little tricksy and trying to deceive the readers a bit. Once I got into the the swing of the story (which honestly didn’t take long), none of that mattered as you could see all the strands plaiting together.

Loved that we got to see more of Abigail and Reynolds, and even a glimpse of the foxes!

Can’t wait for what’s next!

I love that the stories are still fresh despite plot points/resolutions from previous entries in this series. I'm fully emotionally invested in Peter's life and relationships so this was another good read for me.
