30 pages into the book, i realized I've actually read this book before but completely forgotten about it! another part of the when-i-was-a-precocious-preteen-who-ran-out-of-books-to-read-in-the-public-library saga.

I will always love Sarra Manning's books, ever since I read Guitar Girl I have been in love with this woman's writing. I don't care if there YA novels or her adult ones. I will forever and always buy what she is selling and give it a five star rating because she somehow always manages to evoke some real emotion from me in her writing. When the protagonist is embarrassed I feel the need to shove my face in a pillow and cringe in embarrassment right along with them. When they fall in love, so do I. I get angry and feel outraged right along with them and by the end I am forever grinning like an idiot.

This was the perfect amount of everything. The perfect amount of drama. Perfect amount of comedy. Perfect amount of romance. THe perfect amount of everything. I loved the family dynamic and the appropriate amount of father angst. I loved that it sent the perfect message of sure you can't pick your blood relations, but you can choose who you are going to accept as part of you family. Each and every character felt perfectly developed and I wanted to know about all of them. I loved the Vaughn and Grace cameo, because I aboslutely adore them. I loved all the little cameos, because that is what she does best, create an entire world and always remembers to just hint at the fact life continues after you finsih reading one of the novels.

I cannot wait for Manning's next book and am sorely tempted to go back and read all hear past books, because that is what she brings out in me, That feeling that I need to go back and reread, like visiting old friends. Just to make sure they're still alright.

First bad book of 2017.
I HATED David. He was awful. I really really really disliked him.
I actually liked Ellie and her relationship with her mom and moms friends though.

I enjoyed this immensely. Mostly because the characters were a perfect mis of not-stereotypes and it was fun and serious and whole lot of other contrasts.
Really really good.
I'm not even making sense so why bother.
