The middle is a bit slow but if you read it fairly quickly its not bad. Don't put it down half way and come back days later-then it feels way too long and drawn out. The last 200 pages are so good

“I am priestess of a sandcastle in a land of dust and starlight”

A bit longer than necessary for a sequel, in my opinion. And it contains a disturbing scene that I was not ready to read about in a book like this. But overall it is a great way to continue the series; it went in a way different direction than I thought it would.
Can’t wait to see where Taylor will take us in the finale!

Loved this book so much! Laini Taylor is an amazing writer and the plot was great! There are a wide range of characters - all of which come alive and are unique!

I really enjoyed this, but man it was slow. I really wanted more development with Akiva and Karou from where we left off in book one and I just don't feel like it was meeting my expectations. Do I still love this series? Yes, absolutely.

Didn’t love this one as much as book one, but it was still good. Looking forward to seeing what happens in books three.
