Voice of the narrator which seemed to be the protagonist didn't match her upbringing. The voice used too flowery descriptions of surroundings that didn't line up with the upbringing of the character.

I don’t even know where to start with this one. Mary E. Pearson put crack in this book. Such a beautifully written story that brought its main characters to life in a believable and satisfying way. Kazi & Jase’s relationship was one of my favorites. I can’t even pinpoint what about this book made me love it so much - just everything worked for me. I’m so excited to read the next one!

I loved the beginning 3rd and the ending 3rd. The middle third kind of lost that suspense which made the book feel incredibly long at times but overall I really enjoyed it and will have to pick up the second book.
