This book had a slower start but by the end I was hooked and very invested in the characters. I love Jase and his family as well as Kazi and her friends.

I’ve heard people call this an enemies to lovers romance, but I wouldn’t necessarily agree? They were “enemies” for like 3 seconds. It’s also not a super high stakes fantasy but the vibes are immaculate. Can’t wait to read Vow of Thieves!!

OKAY HEAR ME OUT!! I KNOW THIS IS CONTROVERSIAL, BUT I JUST DIDN'T CONNECT WITH THIS BOOK. It just feels like a 2.75 stars. like if it wasn't for Jase, I think I would have DNF'ed the book ages ago. I was still wanting to DNF the book with 20 pages left. But also....I want to read the next book? It's such a weird feeling. I honestly don't actually know what kept me reading the book, and when I think back to me reading it, I can't actually really think of a plot. I was so confused? and I feel like they fell in love SO SUDDENLY. Like I get that it's a book and that it is going to happen fairly quickly, but I feel like they just went BOOM 'WE'RE IN LOVE HEHEHEEH' but then also never really talked and were trying to be enemies to lovers but completely failing. and like I said I just don't really know the plot. I don't get why they stayed in Hell's Mouth for so long (well I do, but I don't get why THEY DIDN'T ACTUALLY DO WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO) and then I don't get why Jase came back with them in terms of plot, because he literally was let go straight afterwards. IT JUST CONFUSED ME SO MUCH. and this whole rant has actually made me realise I should probably lower the rating. maybe let's go for a 2.5 stars. But I still want to read the next book because I kinda want to know what happens next. like it's not a long series - it's a duology so I feel like I should because I have the urge to. weird right?
