I read this after the original trilogy set in the same world and I think it helped a lot to make sense of the myths and the politics of the story.
I enjoyed the main characters and their push and pull romance! It happened despite the plot and it makes it a lot more interesting!
I liked the family dynamics as well and the play for power.
Again, a well written book!
Highly recommend!! (But after the remnant chronicle trilogy)

I suffered through reading the Remnant Chronicles last year. All because I was told these books were amazing and I need to read that series before this series. So I would understood what was going on then I waited for my library to have the books. I wasn’t going to buying them. I listen to 10% of the book. I don’t think I will be pick up another Mary Peterson book. I have read 3+ books from and did not like even one of her characters. Her writing style is not for me and I can’t tell you why but I don’t click with these books and I don’t like them.
