As someone with a background in film and an appreciation for the medium, I found this to be a thoroughly intriguing and engrossing read!

DNF at a robust 10% - fine and interesting but a little dense for my liking.

I felt like the book could've covered more of the oscars instead of focusing on the key points of each decade. There was definitely stuff I wanted to know more that felt breezed over. A highlight of the book was the focus on civil rights accomplishments in film, and learning about how the cold war affected productions.
