God where do I start? First I thought I would enjoy this book bc of the good reviews on this app but boy where they wrong. I almost dnef this book bc of the cringey charachters/conversations. 60% in the book I was like okay this is not that bad, but still. I didn't had a problem with the FL nor the ML (only that the personalities switched up midbook what confused me) i have a problem with the side charachters. I would like to throw Carter from this planet. He just a child, like act you age ! Loved the plot, only cared for princess bubblegum but the story on how she got lost it was just boring. Like give me drama :) This book could be 200 pages shorter in my opinion bc there was a lot of repetition ....

My obsession with this book is unhealthy. I am unhinged for Garrett and Jennie. Jennie is one of the most relatable and fucking funny heroines on planet earth. Garrett is absolutely in my fictional boyfriend hall of fame forever. And the scene where Carter and Ollie’s daughter’s name is revealed? No, uh uh, I can’t handle it. Had me SOBBING. The emotional depth of this book combined with one of the best found family executions I’ve ever read make this an ultimate fav for me. And the spice? Fan-fucking-tastic.

This series is the first one that represents healthy communication for me. Usually I have to resist shouting 'just tell him you feel that way!' to romance books. Whereas here, they do just that and work through it. It's refreshing. The banter is awesome! The teasing, the 'touch her and die' and the 'you'll be safe with me' (both ways!) made me smile throughout the entire book. Loved it and can't wait to read the next one in this series!

I love the teammates sister trope and this book is top tier! So fun and addictive. Definitely had a heavier storyline than the first book, but it just made you feel like you had more insight into the characters. Garrett is so compassionate and caring. He and Jenny’s dynamic felt very natural and easy. Absolutely devouring this series!

”A love above the rest. That’s what a soul mate is. Someone with smooth edges to soften our sharp ones. Someone who fits us so perfectly, vibrates on the same frequency, makes all our best paths shine. And together? Together, everything is exactly the way it’s meant to be.”

What I really liked about this book was the fact that Garrett ”Gare-Bear” Andersen helped Jennifer ”Jennie” Beckett work on realizing her worth, but that at the end of the day is was Jennie herself that had the realization, if wasn’t that Garrett convinced her of that, but that she realized that he was telling the truth. She did what she wanted, and went for it. I loved Garrett’s character - he’s so unlike the typical hockey player we read in books. Garrett is gentle (not in the bedroom though), and he’s shy and rambles around Jennie because he finds her beautiful and intimidating!

Tropes:
  • Hockey romance
  • Best friend’s sister
  • Friends to Lovers
  • Friends with benefits

Garrett Andersen is pushing top 5 book bfs for me idk if I'm still in the honeymoon phase of post-reading the book but I LOVEEEE Garrett omg. I don't know how but Carter became a reverse Alex from the twisted series to me in the sense that I enjoyed Alex in every book but his own and Carter was the reverse where he just became a big grown adult baby and I could not stand that when it came to his "protection" of Jennie especially when he found out Jennie and Garrett were seeing each other. She's a grown tax-paying adult I'd like to think she can pick and choose who to be with, date, or say no to. it made sense when it came to her ex but in terms of everyone else, it was just too much. Jennie was so real and her insecurities were valid and very relatable. The tension in this book is sooo 😮‍💨 😮‍💨 😮‍💨 😮‍💨 😮‍💨 😮‍💨  Highlights of this book: I did not expect to laugh during this book as much as I did and that's thanks to the random Cara and Adam alliance/pairing that came in this book. book
