finally got it.!!

I was so disappointed with this story. I loved the Lara Jean books and thought these would be amazing as well but... the characters were just annoying and childish. The writing style made me wanna rip my hair out it was so frustrating. I really tried to love it but it was impossible.

Still got those first love butterflies from this trilogy! Yup! Still my favourite contemporary YA series EVER. I don't think my love for this series or Jenny Han's writing will ever change! Also is it just me that reads anything Jenny Han with a huge grin on my face? I get so ridiculously nostalgic! I never seem to get that "I'm too old for this sh*t" feeling that I get with a lot of other YA contemporary, it's surprisingly relatable and probably the most realistic contemporary I've read in this genre.

Note: may contain spoilers. I've tried to mark them, but still I may be spoilering!

1: 3/5. The first book was okay. I had trouble getting into the story and also sympathising with Belly. By the way, why would she introduce herself as Belly if she dislikes the name that much? It's so strange.... As the story picked up its pace, it got easier to stay in the story, but still, it didn't feel like it grabbed my attention like other books have before. I found the little twist
Spoilerregarding Susannah's illness
a little predictable and I didn't very much like the ending. However, at the end I really felt for the characters, and the story still wasn't too bad.

2: 4/5. This book was much, much better than the first one in my opinion. I liked that Belly finally grew up a little and became a little more adult in the way she thought (of course, she's still officially a child, but she didn't annoy me as much as she did in the first book). Conrad annoyed me to no end, I really really dislike the pushing and pulling he was doing. Jeremiah was very sweet and I felt really bad for him here and there... Also, the fact that the whole story actually takes place in 6 days is kind of impressive... But very well executed. Also, Laurel is badass and I really like her!
SpoilerAlso, very freaking happy that she's finally finally together with Jeremiah, he's the sweetest~

3: 4/5. That ending! It's so sweet~ I kind of expected it to turn out this way, but it was still good.
SpoilerI liked Jeremiah and Belly's relationship, up till the point that J kind of changed into a shitty frat boy... They were totally adorable together! I couldn't sympathise with B forgiving him after he 'cheated', though; I know for sure that I wouldn't have been able to. Also, getting married at 18 is way too early in my opinion, which is why I couldn't understand why B would heed her mother's (good) advice. But well, that may be just me.
The book wrapped up really nicely, and it felt very satisfying.
SpoilerIt's a little too bad that the letters included in this version of the book are kind of spoiling the ending...

All in all, I kind of liked the series. It was fluffy, but with a hint of seriousness mixed in. I liked that Isabel obviously grew up a little in the course of the trilogy, and the ending was very, very cute.

I liked this series a lot. I really like the author Jenny Han. I love the way this series ended. I love how she ended up with Conrad and not Jeremiah. I am not a fan of Jeremiah. But all together, I thought this was a great book. Love it!

This series overall has been my favourite series I've ever read and all place in my top 5 favourite books (atm). I read this years ago and was absolutely obsessed with it, I feel like re-reading it but I'm worried it won't be the same as my little pre-teen heart remembers it. It's definitely got it's cheesy and cringeworthy moments but I still love them. I seriously cried after finishing the trilogy and felt empty, as though no book could ever top them. A funny story about it though - After I finished them I posted about it on Instagram and as I was writing my caption, I realised something about one of the main characters. I noticed that his name was Conrad, which it very well was, but for THREE books I'd been reading his name as Conard, and only then figured it out. I'm not kidding. I felt like such an idiot lol.
