As or MC said this gets more complicated than it needs to.

I really like Adele and her parts in the books where good if a bit predicable and maybe thats the reason why all this meta thing gets so convoluted, for the author to have a final reveal but in my opinion been the only woman in a movie set sounds already like a horror movie for me.

I struggled with this book. It felt a bit convoluted and hard to follow. The dual storylines and the book within a movie within a book proved to be too complicated for me. I’m also not a big fan a gaslighting as a trope so there’s that as well. Still I finished it because Catherine Ryan Howard is an auto-read author for me, and this one book hasn’t changed that.

Really wish you could give half stars on books already cause I’d give this a 3 and a half easily. It was very entertaining and I really enjoyed the heightened anxiety and the adrenaline pumping this gave. One thing about this author is she really knows how to build suspense and make you feel like you’re in the moment. I think the overall motive for what led to everything happening was kinda poor though and also confusing at times so I couldn’t give this 4 stars like I wanted to. However, I still had fun and it was cool reading a book about a horror film being filmed within a film (if that makes sense).
