This is a psychological thriller about an actress starring in a horror film about a book Final Draft. It definitely had creepy vibes as the movie was being filmed in a secluded cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere. I did like how it alternated between the book itself and the final draft script. Once I finally got into it I couldn’t put it down as I had to see what happened next. I was totally let down. Definitely disappointed

3.5 stars...I liked this but didn't LOVE it. I really enjoyed the Irish accent in the audiobook. I thought it was a pretty decent thriller but the ending was just ok for me. I don't think I'll be reading this one again or that it will be particularly memorable...but I did enjoy listening to the audiobook.

How can you really review this one? I really feel like I might reveal something if I even attempt it. This was a great thriller, suspense, slightly horrific novel. I had a lot of fun reading it.

I really only had a couple of gripes. One was the season. A lot of the thriller scenes are set with freezing descriptors, yet rain was falling from the sky. I feel like this could have done wonders in winter. I also felt the middle section getting a bit repetitive and predictable, i was losing some interest.

Everything else was great! The first third had great set up and character work with backstories that weren't quite filled in until later. The last third was pure action with a couple of twists I didn't see coming. This was a really strong close to a book. You don't get that often in a lot of thrillers. But, the dialogue at the end is some of the best I've witnessed. It has me wanting more. Is that on purpose? Im looking forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for letting me get my hands on an ARC.

A strange thriller film in a remote part of Ireland with little known about it and an actress who commits and doesn't tell anyone where she is?! Sign. Me. UP!

Run Time was a TON of fun. Adele, our lead, is struggling to find work in LA after some career hurdles in Ireland. But when she gets a call from a director to come back, that will pay enough to cover her rent and extra, she doesn't think twice. However, once she arrives, things are unusual- the location, the size of the crew, the NDA... and when weird things start to happen, they are starting to mimic the script for the movie. Is it a prank?

While the book starts off a bit slow, I thought the way it was told really worked for tension building and mystery elements. We read parts of the script throughout the story, which isn't always for everyone, but helped piece together the direction the story was going in for me. The plot is very fun, perhaps a bit ridiculous, but Howard made it an enjoyable ride right up until the end. I found the reveals quite smart and I didn't expect any of them. While I wasn't personally intrigued by Adele much, the plot and planning made up for it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the ARC!

I am a huge fan of Catherine Ryan Howard's books and this one is no exception.  This book was about a horror movie being made deep in the woods of West Cork is called “Final Draft” and its tagline is :” Based on a terrifying true story-that hasn’t happened…YET.” Former “These Are The Days” soap opera star, Adele Rafferty has stepped in at the last minute to replace the original Actress who had been cast-so there wasn’t a lot of time to ask questions. Adele was once a rising star but something happened on the set of the first movie she was hired for-“We Were Kings” and she hasn’t worked in the industry since. Adele is hoping that this role will reopen the door that had been closed on her-and revive what was once a promising career, but things seem “off” about this production right from the start. This was a fastpaced tension filled thriller where real life starts to mimic the screenplay. Was this film meant to be a found -footage style horror movie-like “The Blair Witch Project”-ten years too late to be relevant?? I was enveloped in the creepiness from the very start. #runtime #catherineryanhoward #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #greatreads #amazonaustralia #litsy #thestorygraph #bookqueen #bookstagram #thriller
