An Irish actor, Adele, was about to bail on her acting career when she lands a super secretive movie job. The story is set on a creepy mansion and it's basically life imitating art. Adele is isolated and has no idea what is happening.

The narrator did a good job building the intensity of the story and kept me interested. I did find the end wrapped up a little too nicely.

I have loved this author in the past but this book is just ugh. Lots of repetition in the writing- how many times can the pieces just start to click together for the protagonist…a lot. Apparently lots of pieces in this puzzle. Please also do not run into the woods at night in the dark everyone when you decide you might be scared. Just grab a snack and wait until morning. That is always the answer.

🎧 WOW this was a goody… So cleverly written with some being in script format which really worked. It really built the intrigue and suspense. This is a story within a story and both left me wanting to find out more. Really well paced plot along with well developed characters. Love when a plot makes you question everything. I really loved when it all started to come together and the pace really picked up. Definitely another top read from Catherine Ryan Howard, she definitely knows how to weave a story. This one in audio format definitely added to the experience.

Not sure if it was the writing or the narrator but the mc was unbelievably annoying
