Because what better follow-up to "The Handmaid's Tale" can there be? The author's continue to scare, scold, scorn, and delight us with this tale of what happens to uppity women and the society that put them there. I truly cannot wait to see what happens.
Just read it. Trigger warnings abound for the entire series, so approach it gently. But do read it.

(recommended by signal boost) loved this comic series and will still hope for a continuation for forever but even if it never happens it was still such an interesting series
How in hell did this get nominated for a Hugo? The plotting is so bare as to be non-existent. The characters who pop up inconsistently over issues are paper-thin, farcical and downright forgettable. The art is dull and an eyesore. The execution is so poor that the themes are on-the-nose. I far preferred the content at the end of each issue—ranging from parody ads to intelligent essays on feminism and related topics—to the actual comic. God I hope there's no volume 3 ever.

This is a comic about a prison planet where all "non-compliant" women, trans and genderqueer people get sent to. I thought the addition of the trans and genderqueer characters was handled well, and it contributed to me enjoying this volume a lot more than the first one. Although, there is the caveat that I enjoyed #7-10 that focus on Bitch Planet (and included the new characters) better than #6, which was an individual character's back story. #6 was prefaced with a content warning that made clear you could skip it entirely if it would be triggering for you, which on the one hand I appreciate and on the other meant that it was (by design) less integrated with the rest of the series. I found the ending to be intriguing and cliff hangery without being exasperating and I'm curious to see where the story goes next. I wasn't sure I'd keep reading after volume one, but I'm glad I gave it another chance.
