This series more than intrigues me. It's dark unique, and relevant. I was even impressed that the book opened up with a trigger warning about an upcoming sexual assault scene, color me impressed. This book picks up right where volume one left off with Meiko's death and goes into her backstory and the important role that her father will soon have in the rebellion. Everything goes to hell and things are about to get even more violent then usual!

Loved this so much. The twists, the plot thickening! And I super appreciated the notes at the end about the thought process when it comes to the trans women.

It had been long enough since I read volume 1 that I think I should have at least read a synopsis to refresh my memory. But, this was still enjoyable, if a bit difficult to read.

3.5

I had to go back and re-read Vol 1 because my memory is terrible and I needed reminders on the characters but I'm really enjoying this story and I want to see where it goes.

Fire. Absolute fire. Amazing. And the notes from Kelly Sue and Valentine about two really important opening panels are amazing.

I often have this trouble with graphic series, where I don't remember what happened in the first volume when I get to the second. For some reason it's harder with graphics than with prose novels. It was of course just as good, but I couldn't remember who all the characters were.

I really love this series. And this one definitely he’s up to the standard set in the first. I liked getting Meiko’s back story and her fathers arc was great. I had assume that not every male would be on board with the anti-feminist culture but it was great to see it played out with how he raised Meiko and his subsequent take over of the jail. I also loved that transgender inmates were represented as well.
