I wasn't expecting much from Grisham's first foray into YA fiction, but Theodore Boone, Kid Lawyer was really rather fun to read. Theo is definitely more of a miniature adult than the thirteen year old he is supposed to be but that made me like the character all the more and I look forward to reading more about him.

I really loved this book because I was craving a crime book and this was really good.

This was a fun read for middle school.

It’s cool that there’s a legal thriller aimed at kids, in the style of the old Hardy Boys novels.

What’s not cool is the cop out ending where NOTHING is resolved.

Read for an 8th gr student. Ugh. So corny and unrealistic but I’m an adult so maybe he liked it.

good introduction to a series...will be interested to see how the next book goes to see if they are as connected as it seems the first book is set up to do

I know this is a children's novel, but there were so many flaws in this story. I know this is a series and this is only the first book, but there were so many unresolved issues that needed to be addressed. For example, what happened to the random plot line about the possible girlfriend for Theo? That was just thrown in and never brought up again. I expected more from John Grisham, as he has written some impeccable novels.
