so fun to read!

I wanted to like it but it reads like an AI program decided to write YA. Also, I could not with naming people “moonlings”. Hoped it would get less bad as it went on, or at least I could move past it, but I could not. Gave up around 1/4 of the way in.

DID NOT FINISH: 9%

Literally the main character is insufferable.

Too much filler, not enough plot or romance imo. Took me foreeeeever to want to finish this. I’m only reading for the second book, which I’ve heard great things about

Gives very ACOTAR vibes.
Was worried would be just a repeat but enough differences to still be fresh.

2.5 ⭐️ Zapowiadało się fajnie, im dalej tym gorzej. Niepotrzebny trójkąt miłosny, główna bohaterka niestety dosyć głupia

i saw so many mixed reviews, it was either 1 or 5 which was a possible red flag. but i started reading and i could already tell id be on the lower end of ratings by the first chapter. it was so, lifeless. honestly it’s a shame because the story outline has a good premise but the writer was just not able to execute it. plainly. it was laughable at points how bad it was, and being able to point out the recycled descriptions and plain writing techniques. the last 100-150 pages though became torturous. hopefully this will mean whatever i read next will be a heightened experience in comparison

Something about this story just fell short for me. The premise is interesting and it got a lot of hype online for being a new fantasy/scifi YA death match... but it felt like the stakes were missing for about half of the book. Like, shit didn't seem real until we got to the last 150 pages or so.

I was not super impressed with the overall story, but the enemies-to-lovers plot line going on made it all worth it.
