Definitely an improvement on the first volume, the artwork remains fantastic but the story is far more engaging and the stakes are more dire. I loved the inclusion of a second Starforce team and the new villain and just wonderful. Unfortunately, unlike the 1st volume, this one has a cliff hanger ending. So far, there have been no announcements about the continuation of the series, so we may never know what happens next.

So much better than the first one. I enjoyed the banter a lot more as well as the new characters.
It ended on a cliff hanger and I can't find another volume though so that's a little frustrating.

This started off on rough footing, somehow both gratingly "hip" and cutesy, and gratingly "real" and gritty. Fortunately, the gang found their footing again by the third issue, but then it kind of just ended really abruptly. This is one of those trades stuffed with backmatter, which is like-- sure the backmatter can be fun and cool to see if you're a fan, but that's a lot of pages that, it turns out, aren't the book you bought to read. The characters are (mostly) still fun and interesting, but this volume offers way less development and genuine pathos than the first one.

this was such a good addition to volume 1 the fire prince was such a fun old school sailor moon-ish villain bUT OMG THAT CLIFFHANGER 😩😩 IM NOT OKAY THERE BETTER BE A VOLUME 3 IN THE WORKS
