What a great writer! The book is sad and at times hopeless but at the same time I kept reading which is a testament to the author's talent.
I'm looking forward to the author's next novel whenever she chooses to write and publish one

I felt for the main character and her situation. She felt so real and I feel that so many people can relate to the lived experiences of characters in the story.

I don't know how to feel this book. I didn't expect an easy read when I first started it but I certainly didn't expect either what it came with. The story is so scarily terrifying, especially upon discovering it's based on real facts, and I absolutely felt interesting the whole context and plot in which the author developed it, switching swiftly from a more journalistic style or a more personal one that allows to see in time everything the main character feels while also following the trail of events.

I didn't fully enjoy the writing and I thought that the ending was a mess, because although I understood how it finished at the same time I felt like it could have handled with a bit more of slowness.

It's utterly a story that will stay on my chest for days and won't leave me. It's an haunting tale that I'd encourage you to read - obviously being aware of the tws - because it certainly will help you on understanding and opening your eyes on different aspects of our rotten society.

Nightcrawling is one of the most infuriating books I've ever read - and I mean that as a compliment. Mottley wrote a novel so raw and painful and real that it was upsetting to read, and not every author is capable of capturing emotion like that. I was endlessly frustrated by Kiara's refusal to just tell the whole truth, devastated by how her friends and family blamed and failed her, disgusted by how the justice system abused and discarded her. But there are moments of genuine love and happiness, too, specifically in Kiara's relationships with both Ale and Trevor.

Real people don't act like characters in a book, always saying and doing just the right thing and having happy endings. If you're someone who wants that in a story, this is not for you. If you're someone who reads to have the world reflected back at you in all it's pain and beauty alike, then it definitely is.

Beautiful writing. But the story was low and by the middle I was just ready for it to be over.
