A lot sadder than the previous book, a lot morel intimate and equally beautiful

I cried twice within an hour or so. I love the part where she described her mother and her culture and how she had to leave everything to come to this new country. How her parents work their ass off to provide for their family. It reminds me of mine. Even though, my parents and I aren’t an immigrant, but I relate of having parents that work hard until they forget about themselves. Forgot that they also need to take care of themselves. The self love part is also very relatable for everyone. The meaning of being beautiful and not fitting in with some beauty standards. To love yourself first before you love somebody else. Before this, I really thought that this phrase is just some BS. But these days, I truly think so. That we attract what we think of ourselves. And to move on from a heart break. How to heal and become our better selves after someone left us. It’s a very depressing yet empowering book. I don’t usually read poems because the metaphors sometimes are too hard to understand, but I love this one. This is the type of book where you actually remembered after you read it and you can flip through again when you need to feel empowered. Happiness isn’t overrated and we need to spread that.

A nice book, I can not call it poetry but these short talks were very striking considering feelings and that’s what I like about it, as well metaphors and illustrations were so simple but clever.
I didn’t like the part talking about sex, mentioning porn and bodies, and physical comparison between the narrator and other women.
