I really wish I could have given this 4 stars. I love learning about space and everything surrounding it, and this book was able to enlighten me on many things. However, though I understand that this is only meant to be a short, not very detailed account on astronomy, it felt like facts were just being thrown at me. At lot of the time I found myself reading the words but not containing it. Nevertheless, this was a fun little read and I’d love to carry on looking into this topic.

Not that I am in a hurry or believe creationism fairy-tales from the book of genesis ; it was more like a quick recap and few new topics for me . Overall the subject matter is quite rudimentary but written in an entertaining manner and ends with a philosophical touch.

Loved this book! It includes fundamentals everyone should know about our universe. I recommend reading this book while listening to epic instrumental music.

The book is written in such a funny and creative way. All the pages are filled with everyday-life comparisons, which serve to simplify the complicated definition of Astrophysics. The content of the book greatly goes beyond the purpose of giving scientific knowledge, reaching to the philosophy of astrophysics and conveying the author thought about the connection between science and humanity. The book is really a combination of a novel, a science, and a humanity book.

Astrophysics for People in a Hurry is a phenomenal introduction to some of the most interesting aspects of outer space. Neil deGrasse Tyson presents new ideas with engaging confidence, and, true to the title, this book is a quick read. Would definitely recommend reading this book, even if you aren't even that interested in space (this book could change that).
